We are parents, too. We think traveling well and traveling with children shouldn’t be mutually exclusive. We have limited vacation time, and we’re not spending our few days of freedom in lousy hotels eating bad food. We know the world is full of wonderful resorts, cool urban escapes and far-flung lodges that can make our time with our kids count. We want it all, and we don’t think it should be so hard to find. So we’re going to share it with you.

July 4th Cocktails & Mocktails

Amber Hunter

Whether you're on a staycation or a summer getaway, July 4th is the perfect holiday to indulge in some cocktails with grownups and mocktails for the kids (and soon-to-be mamas). We've found some fun drinks guaranteed to put a smile on your face this holiday weekend.

Want something simple? Try a watermelon cooler from Martha Stewart. It's kid and mommy-to-be friendly or of course it can be spiked with your favorite tipple. And nothing is quite so satisfying as fresh watermelon on a steamy summer day.

Real Simple's star spangled sangria is easier to make than you think! Make a separate batch with grape juice and a touch of berry juice, serve frozen for an extra refreshing summer treat.

Try one of our favorite sips of all time, grapefruit margaritas from the Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten. Add some local blueberries to make it more festive for Independence Day.

Want even more drink-spiration? Check out our Pinterest board which is sure to give you plenty of ideas on how to quench your thirst this weekend!
